Valra'nir

Valra’nir refers to the primordial beings of immense and ancient power who embody the forces of creation and cosmic foundation. Derived from Valra-, meaning "ancient" or "origin," and -nir, a suffix denoting entities bound to profound elemental influence, the term conveys the depth and timeless essence of these beings. The Valra’nir stand beyond the reach of mortal understanding, embodying aspects of existence that are woven into the fabric of the cosmos itself. They are not merely creators but sustainers and regulators of universal balance, tasked with overseeing realms of life, death, creation, and destruction.

In Erul’s cosmology, the Valra’nir represent the highest tier of divine hierarchy, serving as the ultimate source from which all other beings derive their power. The most notable among the Valra’nir are Eru and Rul, whose combined essence gave form to Erul and its elemental forces. As ancient and enigmatic forces, the Valra’nir exist in a state of harmonious opposition, embodying dual aspects—creation and destruction, light and shadow—that must coexist to sustain cosmic order. This timeless balance sustains all subsequent tiers of celestial beings, from the sacrificial Arava'thar to the guiding Taravalir, who work within the bounds set by the Valra’nir to shape and maintain the world.

Hierarchy of the Valra'nir

In the Ando'Var star system, the Valra’nir represent the primordial hierarchy of divine beings whose combined powers anchor the cosmic order. At the highest level are Eru and Rul, the foundational forces of creation and destruction. Their boundless energy shaped the essence of Erul, the superplanet that lies at the heart of the system. Existing in a state of eternal balance, Eru and Rul’s duality reflects the cosmic dance of life and death, growth and decay, which are intrinsic to all beings and natural laws within Ando'Var. Bound within Erul’s core, their influence radiates outward, shaping both the physical and spiritual realms of the planet and governing the forces of nature, spirit, and the passage of time.

Emerging from the essence of Eru and Rul, the Arava'thar—a second tier of divine entities—arose to restore balance to the system after a cataclysmic event known as Tha’rakos, or The Convergence Effect. During Tha’rakos, multiple celestial bodies collided to form Erul, resulting in massive destruction and the rise of the corruptive Ru’suru. To restore harmony, the Arava'thar sacrificed themselves to contain Va’shural, the dark force embodying this corruption, within the Vashira. From their sacrifice and the will of Var, a distant guiding star, the Taravalir emerged as the third and final tier of celestial beings, tasked with tending to Erul’s balance and nurturing its growth. Thus, the hierarchy of the Valra’nir—from the timeless power of Eru and Rul, to the sacrificial Arava'thar, and the vigilant Taravalir—maintains the harmonious order of the Ando'Var star system.

Vel

The Vel are the original Valra’nir, primordial entities of cosmic power—Eru and Rul—formed directly from the essence of the universe. They embody the balance of creation and destruction, influencing Erul from their resting place within its core. Their essence is infused into Erul, and their will indirectly shapes the course of its fate.

Arava'thar

The Arava'thar are four powerful beings born from the combined essences of Eru and Rul and the will of Ando, created to bring balance to the Ando’Var star system. They arose from the need to stabilize Erul after The Convergence and to contain the corrupting influence of Va’shural. In a great act of sacrifice known as Tha'ravos, the Arava'thar gave their lives to imprison Va’shural within the Vashira and rid Erul of the Ru'suru, establishing the foundation for life.

In the wake of this sacrifice, the virtues embodied by the Arava'thar led to the emergence of the Elura, twelve Taravalir representing ideals like humility, compassion, and loyalty. These virtues were essential to guide Erul’rans in preserving harmony and balance. However, the sins committed by mortals also took form, manifesting as the Vakra—twelve dark Taravalir embodying vices such as pride, greed, and wrath. The Vakra surfaced as a direct response to mortal flaws, posing a constant challenge to Erul’rans and threatening to draw them into corruption.

Thus, the Elura and Vakra became counterparts on Erul, each set of Taravalir balancing virtue against vice in a perpetual struggle. The Elura uphold the principles of the Arava'thar, guiding Erul’rans toward a path of growth and resilience, while the Vakra challenge them, testing their strength to resist corruption and maintain the legacy of balance that the Arava'thar established through their ultimate sacrifice.

Raku'thar

After the Arava'thar sacrificed themselves to defeat Va'shural and contain the Raku'thar—the collective of corrupted beings including the Ur'vash and Eth'vash—within the Vashira, the cosmic balance on Erul shifted profoundly. In response to this sacrifice, the Elura took form on the mortal plane, embodying the virtues inspired by the Arava'thar’s selflessness. These twelve virtuous Taravalir represent qualities such as humility, compassion, and loyalty, guiding Erul’rans toward harmony and resilience, helping them uphold the values necessary to nurture and protect their world.

Yet as the Elura arose to foster virtue, the emergence of sin among the Erul’rans gave rise to the Vakra, twelve Taravalir embodying vices like pride, greed, and wrath. These sins, born from mortal actions, allowed the Vakra to take physical form, becoming a constant presence on Erul to challenge Erul’rans and test their resolve against corruption. In this way, the Elura and Vakra embody the ongoing struggle between virtue and vice on the mortal plane, each representing forces that keep Erul’s balance dynamic and alive, echoing the cosmic order established by the Arava'thar and the containment of Va'shural in the Vashira.

Taravalir

Emerging from the essence of the Lirava (the spirit river) during the era of Viren'alas, the Taravalir are secondary guardians tasked with maintaining the balance of Erul. They are divided into six elements—Ilara (Fire), Muna (Water), Tanar (Earth), Syla (Air), Elura (Aether), and Vakra (Nether). Each Taravalir embodies specific aspects essential for sustaining life, fostering virtues, and challenging Erul’rans to confront their flaws. The Taravalir guide Erul through cycles of growth, balance, and renewal, transforming the world into a habitable realm.
